On September 4 and 5 took place in Santiago Chie, the International Seminar "The Nuclear Challenge".

The activity was organized by the local affiliate of FLACSO, in collaboration with the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Chilean Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Seminar was developed through five panels which touched the following topics:

• Challenges on nonproliferation and disarmament. A global picture.
• Promoting nonproliferation and disarmament of weapons of mass destruction: the role of international regimes and organizations.
• Promoting nonproliferation and disarmament of weapons of mass destruction: evaluation of the impact of government.
• Latin America and the debate on nonproliferation and disarmament of weapons of mass destruction: a diplomatic perspective.
• Looking to the future: open session.
