This panel has the purpose of outlining the commitments that should be taken by the states possessing nuclear weapons in order to advance towards the reduction of their arsenals, and how the statements can be transformed in concrete actions.
The situation of different NWS including the "de facto" ones was analyzed in general. The specific cases of Russia, China, and India were analyzed in particular going deeper on its geopolitical situation, goals and behaviors.
The feasibility of a total nuclear disarmament was also discussed, and a role for non nuclear weapons states in the process was identified and remarked.
Topics such as the relevance a successful conclusion of the bilateral negotiation for the START replacement, the importance of consolidating and expanding the idea of nuclear weapons free zones, and the role of deterrence on the security doctrines were also highlighted, among many others conceptual developments.
