The Seminar was held in the beautiful city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, just a few months before the 2010 NPT Review Conference, next May, and therefore, during a season where nuclear disarmament and nonproliferation issues are intensely debated worldwide.

The event has been open to the public, with attendance at no cost, after a simple registration process.

Simultaneous translation and other audiovisual services were available.
